Transcriber Notes

Margaret “Peggy” Gleaves was the daughter of William Gleaves Sr and Elizabeth Turk.  She was born 01 Jan 1784 in Cripple Creek, Wythe County, Virginia.  She married Thomas Turk III  on 24 Dec 1802 in Wythe County at 18 Years, 11 Months, 23 Days.  She died 14 Sep 1855 in Adair County, Kentucky at 71 Years, 8 Months, 13 Days old.

Thomas Turk III was the son of Thomas Turk Jr and Anne Rhea.  He was born 15 Mar 1782 in Augusta County, Virginia.  He was 20 Years, 9 Months, 9 Days old when he married Margaret Gleaves.  He died 26 Feb 1826 in Adair County, Kentucky at 43 Years, 11 Months, 11 Days old.

Thomas Turk Sr and Mary Woolman were both the grandparents of Margaret and Thomas.  Margaret’s mother, Elizabeth (born 1753) and Thomas’ father, Thomas Jr (born 1755) were brother and sister.
