September 15th 1820

In the name of God I Elizabeth Gleaves make my will.

I allow to my Daughter Sarah Allen my Negro woman Winney.

I also Devise to my son James my Negro Lett

I allow all my mony that may be on hand to be equally divided between Thomas Gleaves Polly Porter Elizabeth Ramsey Absalom Gleaves Margaret Turk Easther Finley James T. Gleaves Sarah Allen and Nancy Gleaves. I allow all my horses and cattle to be sold at a credit of twelve months and the money arising from the sale to be equally divided amongst all my children also two Beds and furniture to be sold at a credit of Twelve months and this money arising from the sale to be equally Divided between all my children.

I appoint my sons Absalum and James T. Gleaves my Executors

Elizabeth Turk Gleaves was the wife of William Benjamin Gleaves.  She was born February 17, 1753 and died July 15, 1840 at 87 Years, 4 Months, 28 Days old.

Elizabeth lists her children as
Thomas Gleaves (died 3-26-1849)
Polly Porter (died 11-11-1832)
Elizabeth Ramsey (died unknown)
Absalom Gleaves (died 9-18-1834)
Margaret Turk (died 9-14-1855)
Esther Finley  (died 3-01-1839)
James T. Gleaves (died 6-05-1862)
Sally Allen  (died 3-11-1862)
Nancy Gleaves (died 5-16-1855)

Elizabeth does not mention these children:
Matthew Gleaves (died 10-08-1804)
William Gleaves Jr (died 4-17-1811)

Elizabeth lists two slaves in her will:

Lett

Elizabeth will write another will about 1833.

The two witnesses appear in a number of documents dealing with James T. Gleaves
