Wytheville, Va
December 13,1844

 Mr. George W. Gleaves
Sir, I have written to you about
"two times" in the last month or two months
receiving any [no] letter from you,  I saw the Rev.
C.D. Smith a few days ago and he told me
you was well.  I don't know if I would
have written again But I saw Father a few
days ago & he was enquiring if I had received
a letter from you. He said he had not & was
anxious to know when the examination was
so you can either write to him or me stating --
precisely when the session expires so he
can send for you  I have no news of
importance all are well at home.  I am
getting along with my studies much better
than I anticipated.  Write shortly & give
me the news generously.
Wythe write if you will need any
thing before the examination.

George W. Gleaves                                    Yours truly,
                                                                   SC Gleaves
