News of relations, Guy's second marriage

Nashville May the 24rd 1852

Dear uncle
      I received yours of the 18th of April in due time informing me that your health had not ben good for some four years and also of Aunt Malvinia being in bad health. At the preasant time I am in hopes that you will boath regain you healths for with out health there is no pleasure to be seen. I have had a full Experiment of this fact for the last 6 or Eight months. Jane returned home from Williamson some few weeks before Christmas. There she had a hard spell of some 3 months. When she go home she simeingly (seemingly) was doing well. The winter was a severe wone. She tuck a severe cold which had like to have caused her deth. We thought for a while that there could be no possible chance for her to recover. She is now doing well and I hope will soon be on foot again. She this Evening fer the first time has taken a ride out in the Bugy. She stod it well. Her phisitien (physician) had directed her to do so just as soon as she could possiblely bar it _ I will now say to you that Aunt Catharine Gleaves is quite well and cares (carries) her age well. Cosin Jas and his family still lives with her. They are doing well. Jas is a good manager and is now making money. Cosin Trig is living at the farm his farther gave him in Wilson, Co. He lost his first wife and has married a gain. He married a widow lady. A verry fine lady in deed. She had verry good property. I do not no how much she was worth. Hamilton is living in the western part of this state & is doing well. Burl Perry is still living hear but is tring (trying) to sell out and intends going to Texas_

John Ramseys wife a (and) children is living in Wilson County and doing moderately well - Polly Ann is living with sister Emeline Wright, Emeline Hagar is living in the neighbourhood and doing verry well. Allen is in the western part of this state. I do no no whate he is doing. Wm left here several years ago & has not been herd from since. He is dead I have no doubt, - sister Elizabeth Hill is living in Vanburan County Arkansas. We left here to go there on the 19th of last month. Brother Wm is living in Williamson Co, Brother Jas & John at the same place they were at the time you were hear-----
