As I have an opportunity I write to let you know the news 1st I have just returned from the Creek found Father & Mother as assumed. In much better spirits than you would expect. As I was not present on yesterday I cant give the muster. Some 200 volunteers- Bob Ewald Captain of one of the companies not know who will be of the Caval and Will Tate & T L Preston are spoken often
Dave Meyers, Tom & Felts Kinser were some that volunteered J C Miller & Alex Stuart I heard joined-I think Wythe will in few days-also Jim Wallace Tom Gannaway. Joined with ours in the district knowd as Drum Gattle Joined Jim Umbarger (Son of Simon) David he had rheumatis too bad-to jine-I am expecting Bob back to take his company & will not write more as I will hear from you. Good Bye I hope not forever.
