Exchange Hotel,
J. C. Darst, Proprietor.
Marion, Va. Jan, 15, 1882

Robert H. Gleaves, Esq.,
Dear Sir:-
You must not think us all dead, by any means. You will please find copy of our charter included, which passed both houses of the Legislature and we think the Governor will sign the Law. He has vetoed those of the Norfolk & Western and the Va,, Ky & Ohio. These two companys, we understand, are running over our line, as surveyed by Mr. Sickler.
I should like to hear from you at any time you would find it convenient to write. My post office, Saltville, Va.
Very respectfully,
O. Barrett, Jr.
