RICH, John Robert died February 21, 1962

John Robert Rich, 78, of Arlington, died Wednesday morning in a Fredericksburg hospital.

 

  Mr. Rich was a native of Wytheville, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Rich.  He was superintendent of the Bestone Corp. in Cleveland, Ohio, until his retirement several years ago due to ill health.

 

  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Gleaves Rich, Arlington; four daughters, Mrs. W. G. Keenan, Charleston, W. Va., Mrs. C. W. Sydnor, Alexandria; Mrs. John V. Sampselle, Jr., Warwick, and Mrs. P. C. Coulter, Darien, Conn.; two sons, Major General C. W. G. Rich, Fort Campbell, Ky., and J. R. Rich, Jr., Bethesda, Md.; one brother, Fleming Rich, Bealeton, Va.; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

  The deceased was an uncle of P. A Early and a brother-in-law of Mrs. E. G. Robinson.

The body arrived in Wytheville last night and was taken to the Porterfield-Minnick Funeral Home and will remain there until the hour of the funeral.

 

  Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Wytheville Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. C. W. Sydnor, rector of Christ Church, Alexandria, assisted by the Rev. Harry S. Topham, of Wytheville.  Interment will be in the East End Cemetery.

 

  Pallbearers will be J. Lucian Gleaves, James L. Gleaves, Jr. G. Stephen Topham, T. Barclay Allison, W. Carrington Williams, Dr. Julian B. Haller, Waller S. Poage, Jr., James Dunkley and Sam A. Pope.
