In the name of God Amen.
I, Elizabeth Gleaves, being of sound mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament.
I allow to my Daughter Margaret Turk my megroe woman Winney.
I allow to my Son James T. Gleaves my negroe woman Lett.
I bequeath to my Daughter, Nancy Gleaves my Beaureau,
I Bequeath to my Daughter in Law Malvina Gleaves my China press,
I allow my execuator to sell my negroe girl, Maria and all my stock consisting of horses & cattle, on a credit of Twoelve months, also all my house hold furniture, except what has been specifically, devised & the money arising there from together with the money on hand and the money owing to me to be qeualy divided between all my children namely, Thomas Gleaves, Polly Porter, Elizabeth Ramsey, Absalum Gleaves, Margaret Turk, Esther Finley, James T. Gleaves, Sally Allen & Nancy Gleaves with the acception of two pieces of Gold which I give to my Daughter Polly Porter & Nancy Gleaves, each of them one a piece,
I do not allow my wearing appearal to be sold, but to be kept in

The family as they may think proper. And Lastly I appoint, my son James T. Gleaves, my executor, Signed, Sealed and delivered as my last will the 7th day of September 1830.

At a court held for Wythe County, at the Court house on Monday, the 1st August 1840. This the Last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Gleaves, deceased, was presented in Court, proved by the oath of George Fisher & Joseph Sanders, the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
And on the motion of James T. Gleaves, the Executor named in said will who took the oath required by Land and together with James L. Yost & Isaac Williams, his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $800 conditioned as the Law directs certified is granted him for obtaining probate of said will in due form.
