Lot’s wife turned to Salt.

And his wife, she was Sarah, of Isaac the mother,

Abraham sends away

And Isaac they feast him, and Ishmael banish

Hagar and Ishmael.

And Hagar and child in the wilderness vanish.

Her searching is fruitless, no water is found,

Hagar and Ishmael in the Wilderness of Paran.

And faint and exhausted they sink to the ground;

But an angel discloses the waters that gush

And the cries of her famishing Ishmael hush.

And an angel discloses the horns that are caught,

To prove Abraham’s faith, God commands him to sacrifice his son, Isaac.

When Isaac is rescued, whom Abraham brought;

Ay! Brought him to kill and to burn in the fire

As ordered by God in thelandofMoriah.

For his father had bound him, the knife was upheld,

The Lord confirmed his covenant and said; “In thy seed shall all the nations of the Earth be blessed”.

When the angel appeared, and the ram he beheld;

And God was well pleased with such noble behavior,

And God, unto Abraham, promised the Savior!

When Isaac was older, he married Rebeccah,

Rebeccah deceived him!  And Isaac believed!

Jacob fraudulently obtains the blessing from Isaac, during Esau’s absence.

1-29.

And Jacob not Esau, the blessing received!

As Isaac perceived not the skin of the goat,

Since Esau's was hairy!  Add Esau's his coat!

And Esau defrauded, was Esau enraged!

Jacob flees from the rage of Esau; he journeys and has a vision of a ladder.

And then was his brother to Laban engaged!

XXVIII

But ere there arriving, his calling to ply,

5. 11-15.

He dreamed of the ladder that led to the sky!

And then when he saw them! - the angels descend,

Jacob vows “Of all that thou will give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”

He knew that His God would his footsteps attend!

16-22.

And then of his own, and his willing accord,

He promised a tenth of his wealth to the Lord.

And when he had cattle innumerable earned,

Jacob having served Laban 20 years, starts for Canaan.  Laban pursues him, but is pacified.

Believing this promise, he later returned.

43-45

And Laban pursuing!  His anger conveyed,

Till he dreamed of his God, and His wishes obeyed!

E- Esau -Edom

XXXII

And later the angels to Jacob appear.

Jacob meets with angels at Mahanaim, and God at Peniel, where he receives his name “of Israel”.

And then of his brother approaching, we hear.

And then when his fears of this Esau appalled him,

The Almighty blessed him, and "Israel" called him.
