GLEAVES, Dolores M., 89, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, September 3, 2010, at Mound View Nursing Home.
She was born May 16, 1921, in Wheeling, a daughter to the late August and Ann Thoma Ledergerber. She was a member of St. Joseph's Cathedral in Wheeling and the Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clark M. Gleaves, three brothers, Lawrence Ledergerber, Wilfred "Bill" Ledergerber, and Leo Ledergerber, three sisters, Lucy Bleifus, Bertha McCormick, and Hilda Monday.
She is survived by two sons, Robin M. Gleaves of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Sean M. Gleaves of Martins Ferry, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. James (Kathy) Walton of Las Vegas, Nev., Ila M. Gleaves of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. James (Debbie) Goodson of Wheeling; four sisters, Mrs. James (Gertrude) Black of Wheeling, Ann Ledergerber of Wheeling, Eileen Johnson of Buffalo, NY, and Mrs. Theodore (Mary) Becker of Wheeling; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at St. Joseph's Cathedral, Wheeling, with Rev. Anthony Cincinnati as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
