Our mission is to provide a platform to collect, communicate, document and preserve the history, heritage, and genealogical information associated with the Gleaves surname, any variants of the spelling, as well as others related by birth or marriage.
While we assist in research on all the various lines, our emphasis is on the descendants of Matthew Gleaves, who immigrated to America from Cambridgeshire, England in the mid Eighteenth Century.

* Note:

* All provided meals except the two at Spring Creek BBQ will be served in the meeting room.
* Children under 6 years may eat from their parent’s plate and it is not necessary to pay for a separate meal for the child unless you think they will want a full meal.
* The Vintage Railroad trip to the Stockyards in Ft. Worth will leave from 705 S. Main in Grapevine at 1:00. No meals are available on the train so you will need to have your lunch before boarding the train. The ride is approximately 1 1/2 hours to the stockyards and will arrive in time to do some shopping or site-seeing before the longhorns are herded down the street at 4:00. The train will leave at 4:15 to return to Grapevine by about 6:00. First Class ticket is for enclosed car, A/C and rain proof. Touring is for open car that they can put side on if it is raining but not until they arrive at location.
Transportation
If you are staying at the Comfort Inn, they will provide free transportation to and from the airport and to any place within 5 miles of the hotel. The only conflict would be that taking non-reunion people back and forth to the airport would have priority over reunion people needing a ride to the meeting location. If there is a conflict, there should be lots of Gleaves cousins with whom to catch a ride. The closest airport and the one the hotel provides transportation to and from is Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW).
Auction
Of course we will be having our auction again this year. The funds from this FUN-raiser goes to support our GleavesFamily.com website. (If you have never visited the site, you will be amazed at all the information found there.) Homemade items always are the hit of the auction.
Cancellations
Cancel your registration up until September 29, 2014 for a refund minus a $10.00 cancellation fee. No refund will be given after September 29.
Miscellaneous
Indicate where you will be staying during the reunion.
* Comfort Inn - Remember that the $89.00 rate is only reserved until Monday, Sept. 15. Call 817-329-9300 and ask for Melissa McCoy, Monday-Friday 7:00 - 5:00 CST, to make your reservations.
* RV Park - The Vineyards Campground & Cabins is a beautiful place to camp. Reservations can be made on-line at www.vineyardscampground.com or call 1-888-329-8993. When we were there last October, it was near full, so I would suggest reservations. This is the only campground that we know of that would be close to the reunion site. Rates range from $48 - $68 per night with a 10% discount if you are members of Good Sam’s, AARP, AAA, military, Escapees, etc. There are also weekly discounts. As of the first of June, many sites have already been booked so I would encourage you to make reservations soon since we can not block any of these off.
* Cabins are also available at the Vineyards Campground. Prices ranged from $90-$160 per night and not many were still available for that week. There may be discounts for AARP, AAA, military etc.
* At your home
* Other, if not one of the above
List the name of each person attending the reunion the way you want the name to appear on the name tag. Also include the person’s age if they are under 18 years of age so we can verify the cost exclusions.
Remember to list your Gleaves line starting with yourself going back as far as you can or until you reach Matthew the father who brought the family to America.
Last and most importably, after entering your costs for the reunion, total these costs and write a check for this amount made payable to Gleaves Family Association. Then mail the check or money order and the completed registration form to our association treasurer:
