Anna Maria Gleaves was the oldest daughter of Laura Keene and Dr. Charles Wythe Gleaves. She was born in 1882 in Wytheville, Virginia. In 1910, she married John Robert Rich, Sr. and they raised 6 children. Anna died in 1974 at the age of 93 years.
