Directions:

  • From Nashville go east on I-40 to exit 221B in Hermitage, TN.
  • Turn north onto Old Hickory Blvd.  Go a short distance to Central Pike and turn right (east) at the stop light.
  • Go 0.2 mile and the cemetery is located on the left behind Farmhouse Antiques.
  • Parking:
    • The old driveway to the cemetery is just beyond Farmhouse Antiques and at the present time you can park there.
    • Just east of the old driveway is an electrical substation with a driveway and you can park there.
    • Call  phone number 884-6776 to get permission to park in the lot at 4017 Central Pike.

It is believed that Aunt McCauley is a black woman who may have worked for the Gleaves family for many years.

  • A marker about six feet tall is located in the center of the cemetery with the inscription: “Erected in memory of Absalom Gleaves and Catherine, his wife”
