CANTRELL, JR., Dave Lee July 26, 2012. A native of Nashville, Dave was born to parents, May Gleaves and Dave L. Cantrell, Sr. on November 2, 1927. Dave served his country in the US Army from 1945 until 1958, spending two years in combat during the Korean Conflict. For most of his career, Dave was in the commercial printing business. He and his son, Phillip started Cantrell Graphics in 1982 and sold their firm in 1988. Beginning a second career with the TN Department of Corrections, Dave was responsible for setting up and managing printing plants for the department until his retirement in 1999. Dave is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bettye Ruth Williams Cantrell. He is survived by sons, Phillip (Amanda) Cantrell of Franklin, Dave L. (Stella) Cantrell, III of Houston and seven grandchildren. Dr. Mike Shelton will conduct a service at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28th at Bellevue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at the church. A private graveside service will be held at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
