ESCONDIDO, CA ---- Richard E. Glaves, 57, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 1978.  He was born January 18, 1921, in Rock Creek, Kan.  He had lived in Escondido for five years and had worked as a broker with Insurance of Escondido.  He had been a member of the Lion's Club and of the Elk's Club here.  He was a Navy pilot in World War II, and was a member of the VFW Post here.  He is survived by his wife, Irene; three daughters, Kristin of Escondido, Barbara Cope of Solana Beach and Lynn Taylor of East Lansing, Mich.; his father, Virgil E. of Ontario, Ore.; one brother, Max of Escondido; and three sisters.  Family graveside services were held April 17 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military honors.
