Preceded in death by brother, Wallace Ambrose. He was a Dairy Farmer. Survived by wife Margaret Sexton Gleaves, Nashville,; son, Dr. James E. (Millie) Gleaves, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Ann (Rory) Gleaves Ferrell of Nashville; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine, Rebecca and Rachel Gleaves; grandson, James Tyler Ferrell. Mr. Gleaves graduated from Father Ryan High School. He was affiliated with the Nashville Milk Producers, Dairyman, Inc., and Farm Bureau, Farmer's Club, Farmer's Co-op, Davidson County Agricultural Committee and Music Valley Merchant's Association. Mr. Gleaves is at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home where visitation with the family will be Tues. 2-9 p.m.. Funeral Mass 9:30 a.m., Wed. at the Sister's of Mercy Convent, 2629 Pennington Bend Rd., conducted by Rev. Joseph Breen. Honorary Pallbearers, Clarence Powell, Joe Redden, George Gilliam, Walter Bass, and Ben Payne. Active Pallbearers, John Burns, Ed & Bob Strasser, Randall Abbott, Elmer Whitby, Billy Noland, and David Young. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sister's of Mercy Convent.
