Funeral services for Owen Gleaves, 39, who died Sunday at the home of his brother, K.L. Gleaves, 2302 Granny White pike, were held from the residence Monday by the Rev. J. H. Ramsey, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church at Donelson
Mr. Gleaves was a well known resident of the Stewart’s road community where he had run a dairy for a number of years. He was a native of Mt. Juliet and was also widely known in that community. He formerly lived on the Couchville pike.
Surviving Mr. Gleaves are his wife Mrs. Rosa Gwinn Gleaves; three children, Gwinn, Fay and John: his father John Gleaves, and six brothers, J. L., Will , K.L. and A.G. Gleaves of Nashville, Claude Gleaves of Mt. Juliet, and Alvie Gleaves of Rome, Ga.
Pallbearers were Charles Hale, Will Peal, Percy Castleman, David Caldwell, Lynn Seaborn, G. A. Essex, J. H. Miller and R. L. Wiles. Burial was held at the Shreeves burying ground. (should be Hollis Wright Cemetery)
