GLEAVES, R. LESLIE Born near Van Alstyne, Texas on November 10, 1911, the second of four children of Mary Laughlin Gleaves and Ceil O. Gleaves. Died in Richardson, Texas on June 17, 2005. Preceded in death by brothers, Leonard, Clifton, and Dorman. He had resided in Dallas County since 1927. Graduated from North Dallas High School in 1930. Attended Rice University and graduated from S.M.U. Law School. Was a practicing attorney for many years including legal positions with the U.S. Veteran's Administration, and was a member of the Texas Bar until his death. Also, operated Oak Cliff Personnel Service, from which he retired in 1974. During World War II he served four years in the Army Intelligence Service and was assigned to the Manhattan Project. He was married to Ethel Treadway in 1949, had been a resident of Richardson since 1953, and was a long time member of the First Methodist Church of Richardson. Preceded in death by wife, Ethel T. Gleaves. Survived by son, James L. Gleaves of Houston; daughter-in-law, Lauri H. Gleaves; granddaughters, Rachel and Claire Gleaves; daughter, Gail G. Booth of Dallas; grandson, Stuart Booth and wife Beth; granddaughter, Peyton Booth. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Private family burial.
