HAGAR, William David Age 90 of Nashville, passed away November 8, 2011. He retired from DuPont after 41 years; served in Ipswich, England with the 8th Army Corp during WWII, where he received the American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and the World War II Victory Medal. William is the oldest member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Carmen Lee Hagar; sisters, Pauline Wells, Lillian Hagar, Lucille Hall; brothers, Ewell Hagar and Henderson Hagar; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ann Hagar. Survivors include son, David A. Hagar; daughter, Jeanene Lee Hagar; grandchildren, David Lee (Danielle) Hagar, Suzzanne (Tommy) Hagar Gentry; brothers, Houston (Peggy) Hagar, John (Mary) Hagar; sisters, Hilda Barnes, Frances Bruce, Louise (Robert) Davis, Ruth Boner. Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Hermitage Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Vogner officiating. Burial will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
