LIGON, Ray GordonOf Donelson, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the age of 90. Mr. Ligon was retired from Genesco with thirty-eight years of service and was also employed with Opryland Hotel for 18 years. He attended Donelson Church of Christ. Mr. Ligon was a proud member of the US Army and served our country during WWII. Mr. Ligon is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Mildred Gleaves Ligon; daughters, Patricia Ligon and Carol (Byron) Bohrman; sister, Helen (Roger) Deloach; granddaughters, Allison and Melissa Bohrman. Funeral services will be conducted at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 12 Noon with Dr. Robert Crumby officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 10 until service time. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Ray Gordon Ligon was born 15 Jul 1919 and was the husband of Mildred Ruth Gleaves. She was the daughter of Julain Towell Gleaves and Mattie Louise Potter, the great-granddaughter of Guy Trigg Gleaves and Julia Jennings and the great-great-granddaughter of Absalom Gleaves and Catherine Halsey.
