Bill of Sale for negroe boy Absalom for $300

Know all men by these presents That I, John Nuckolls of the County of Wythe & State of Virginia doth Bargin and Sell unto James T. Gleaves of said County and State aforesaid for and in Consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars, one negroe boy named Absalom about twelve or thirteen years old, which boy I do warrant & defend from all claims & I do further warrant the said boy to be a sound, healthy boy, and for the true performance of this Bill of Sale, I do bind myself, my heir executor, or assigns, given under my hand and Seal this 6^th day of September 1826.
