I do hereby Certify that sometime Shortly after the election in Washington County for the year 1822 Mjr. Reuben Bradley requested of me to memorize, James T. Gleaves of what he had stated to William Campbell relative to the course that he (Bradley) had pursued Concerning the petition for a new County of parts of Wythe & Washington, to which I did and when I mentioned it to Mr. Gleaves, which I believe was the first that he had heard of Campbell making any statements publicly against Bradley, and Mr. Gleaves then went on to State to me what he had told to Mr Campbell relative to the course that Mjr. Bradley took, and since that I have frequently talked with Mr. Gleaves about the Same and he uniformly has told me the Same in Substance of what I see that he has herein stated not varing one jot nor little in Substance, Given under my hand this __day of __1823.
