Dr Sir
I recd by the last mail a letter from my parents by which I am pleased to acknowledge a postcript from yourself I am happy to learn that yourself and family are well I would be more than willing to Comply with your kind solicitations were it not so late in the Season I think it almost impossible for me to leave here untill in February next I have some money comeing to me on which I have brought suits and will not be able to leave untill January term of Court adjoining. the debt is for upwards of twelve Thousand Dollars. and if I shold not attend to it I may not be able to get judgement for twelve months to come. I shall certainly use my best efforts
to get there as soon as possible I shall come by the way of Louisville and will attend to your business with Fisher but I believe it would be advisable for sell the horse that you may get from Fisher for they are worth more in Louisville than they are Virginia and I prefer travelling in the Stage. Sir permit to return you my thanks for the undivided attention you have paid to my aged parents it is a source of gratification to me to know they have a friend and anything they may require so far as convenient to you to assist them will be thankfully recd by me and will be happy to repay when ever called upon
with the highest regard
I subscribe myself
