I write to inform you that I will give you one hundred dollars for the Services of Perry next year, on the same terms I hired him before, You will please let me know by next Saturday whether or not I may have him at that, which I presume you will do from what you told me in town at court. I expect to start on next Sunday to Philadelphia if you have any news to send to Sam'l I will take it

Perry is one of James Gleaves' slaves.
The Samuel referred to in the letter is Samuel Crockett Gleaves, the son of James Gleaves. Samuel is a student at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in Philadelphia at the time of this letter. He will graduate a few months later.
