Randolph (Randal) Rutherford died in January, 1841. James T. Gleaves bought his property at auction. Because James T. Gleaves was also the executor of the estate and no heirs had come forward to claim the inheritance, the courts had to issue title to the property and this still had not occurred by 1845. See Letter 409 for more detail on the estate.
