Dear Father,
As Hounshell left here a few day ago ago I had concluded not to write. But on reflection I found it would be necessary as I did not send these combs & braid by him.
My reasons for not doing was - I knew Uncle Allen did not like any of them and as Gibbony & Guggenheimer would be on in a few days-I thought I would send them by one of them.
I told Hounshell to give you all the news -- Since he left I have been right unwell but have partially recovered- It was cold-I suppose -having got my feet a little damp last Saturday I have been confined to my room two days but am well enough now to attend lectures
I have moved my boarding from 8th & Market to 15 Sansom Street, so you can tell Gibbony when where he will be able to find me I am rooming with two students
from N. Carolina Hutchinson & Houston my reasons for moving the old Lady intends moving & I thought it would be the best to procure a boarding house as soon as possible.
Tell Mother if she could have them made I would like if she could send me a black pair of pantloons like those I wore off - by Guggenheimer - I find they are very much admired and will do as well as any to wear.
Give my respects to all enquiring friends
Yours truly
