[De]ar Bob Jim & Wythe
I was in a
[ ] yesterday. Whiped them like the d---l
[ ] I was on the ground no looken on.
[ ] dead Yankees in rich profusion
[ ] wounded being our loss killed &
[ ]wounded about 20 not a Minute
[ Me]n was hurt or wounded & in the hottest
[ ] going lost one Las Hills. Mostly one
but knew his name Parsons. I believe
the enemy was commanded by Col Tyler
an asst to Genl Cox [ ] formed was
favorable big [ ] emince
but our [ ] & whiped
them killing [ ] will
be found. We have [ ] ?
ambulance [ ]
Besure & bring a Negro a piece [ ]
camp chest & every thing necessary
I am living worse than a dog & [ ]
not in future if can be helped
Wythe I want my business [ ]
as speedy as possible [ ]
believe no ? have land
Eli Davis is dead & I'll not
stand good any longer I have [ ]
patience & great my operations [ ]
performs how ? ?
