He Walked with God.

 Dear Mr. Converse-Sister Alice and I go to the Presbyterian Sunday school every Sunday.  The other Sunday we started to Sunday school, andAlice stuck in the mud.  I was nine years old last Thursday.  Grandma sent me a lovely breast-pin; it has a moon-stone in the centre andrhine stones around it.  We have two kittens and a calf for pets.

  The answer to S. M. Goodman’s enigma was King Cyrus.  We have a sweet little baby sister.  She is two years old.  We love her so much.  Her name in Laura Keene.  One day papa gave her a piece of ham (she likes ham very much).  Papa said: “You are nothing but a little ham.”  Ever since she calls herself “ham,” and at last she gave herself the name of “Ham-bone Gleaves.”  I will ask the little folks a question:  Who was the best man that ever lived, and took such a long walk with God that he never came back?  Good-bye.

Anna M. Gleaves.

Out Little Ones
By L. K. G.

 “Suffer little children to come unto me.”

There were murmurs ‘midst those others
When the little ones, so sweet.
   Were carried by their mother
To the precious Saviour’s feet.

But He pressed them to His bosom,
   And He blessed them and caressed;
For He loved those children’s mothers,
   But He loved those children best.

There were babies, bright and winsome,
   There were babies sweet and fair!
And the lowliest one that Jesus touched
   Was most beloved there!

For he loves the meek and lowly,
   And He loves the humble too;
For the rich may love their riches,
   But to Jesus love is due!
